Kamino was an aquatic planet located in an extragalactic star system that straggled south of the Rishi Maze. It was inhabited by the Kaminoans—a race of tall, elegant beings who were regarded as a mysterious species that tended to keep to themselves.
“Finally, away from those tests and that planet.” Thought Kirwin to himself as he exited Kamino’s upper atmosphere and entered open space. “Now let’s have a look around my ship.” Placing the ship in autopilot Kirwin made his way to the living quarters. “What do we have here?” Kirwin questioned out loud as he entered a mid-sized room with a standard bed, a shelf, and a desk. Kirwin placed his pack down on the bed and unpacked the few items he owned and placed them in their respective locations.
Leaving his quarters Kirwin headed toward the main hold, he found the door closed and locked. “Well, that won’t due. Gonna have to figure out how to unlock that without a pass-code.” After checking other two holds and finding nothing in them Kirwin made sure the laser turret was operational as well as the primary and secondary escape pods. After confirming everything was in satisfactory condition he returned to the cockpit where Kirwin opened the navi-computer. “Where to go? Where to go?” Coruscant seemed the most logical choice, try to figure out why he had been removed from the order, what had happened that day on Naboo. Or he had the entire galaxy to choose from and start a new life as a gun for hire, make a new name for himself; no more to be called Padawan, or Jedi Knight.
Tatooine, Dantooine, Yavin IV, Kashyyyk, Besbin, Mandalore, the navi-computer list went on and on. “I’m not going the get anywhere just looking at this list. Here goes nothing.” Kirwin said to himself as he spun the dial with a quick flick of his wrist. The holo-list scrolled furiously until it started to slow and stop on ‘Coruscant’, scowling at the name Kirwin engaged the Hyper-drive and the ship shuddered for a second then nothing. “Just great!” yelled Kirwin, “All I need is a ship that can’t leave Kamino’s upper orbit!” Anger started to build in Kirwin’s chest, until the HUD produced a ‘WARNING: SYSTEM FAILURE’ message and shut down. “GAH! Could things get any worse?!” Kirwin reached up and pried the cybernetic eyeball from its metal socket and looked it over. He got up out of his chair and walked to his quarters, set the eye on the table and sat on the floor.
Legs crossed, hands on his knees and Kirwin reached out with the Force, lifted his eye off the table and meticulously disassembled it until he found the issue: an internal wire had disconnected from the eye’s solar power cell. Using the Force Kirwin reattached the wire and reassembled the device. As soon as he had finished its assembly and set it on the table the purple HUD powered up and Kirwin saw himself sitting on the floor, a peaceful look on his face, except for the gaping metallic socket that glared at the eye on the table. Opening his good eye Kirwin used the Force to draw his other one to his hand and inserted it back into it’s rightful place. After a quick system check he was satisfied that he had fixed the problem and stood up, “Time to see what is wrong with the Hyper-drive.”
Walking to the engine room Kirwin started looking for possible issues with the Hyper-drive. As soon as he entered the room he saw the issue: everything was disconnected. “By the Force! Can’t anything go right for me today?!” yelled a frustrated Kirwin as he started opening crates looking for the connecting hoses and wires. After a lengthy search however all the parts needed were found and Kirwin began connecting the Hyper-drive to the ship. As he did so Kirwin noticed a compressor modification module hiding within two plates of the Hyper-drive. “That wouldn’t have been good.” Kirwin said as he grabbed the module and ripped it out, connecting wires and all. Finishing up repairs to the Hyper-drive Kirwin returned to the cockpit and readied for the adventures ahead. Looking at the navi-computer Kirwin selected ‘Coruscant’, grabbed the Hyper-drive lever and pulled it back. The Hyper-drive revved, shuddered, engaged, and the ship entered Hyperspace, destination: Coruscant.
